Interested in Serving on Our Board of Directors?
Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad continues to actively recruit community members to serve on our Board of Directors. We look for individuals in the community that bring knowledge and experience in finance, governance, operations, and many other disciplines that are helpful to our organization. If you are interested in learning more about Directorship opportunities, please contact us. Our organization will benefit from your personal and professional expertise!
SBAS is governed by a Board of Directors, as established by the organization's bylaws and elected by the its members. The Directors include both volunteer members and independent non-members. Over time it is anticipated that the number of independent Directors will increase relative to the number of member Directors.
The President of SBAS, with the advice and consent of the remaining Directors, appoints the Director of Operations. All Directors on the Board work in conjunction to create and implement policies, and establish goals.
Each member of the Board of Directors are fiduciaries who are held accountable to protect the organization's assets and ensure that the resources are used successfully for the purpose for which the organization is arranged, ensure its long term viability, and to review, approve, and implement the current business plan. In addition, the Board actively monitors the performance of Operations management, and establishes committees with specific functions and tasks that include SBAS members as well as Directors.
